My primary medium is pastel and subjects are varied. In the early stages I painted everything I owned in a realistic style. The inventory series is piles of colorful items staying in one place. Lately I am reaching for the sky with flying birds and searching for the depths of the sea with the underwater series of colorful fish.
I am painting movement and change. Nothing stays the same everything is continually moving one-way or the other. I try to capture that fleeting moment, the freedom. The direction has been from water to wind.
My intention is to bring color to the world and take art where it is needed most. I paint large murals, Healing Walls, in hospitals and other health facilities. I believe art brings freedom for the mind if one cannot literally have it otherwise. With my work I like to share joy and adventure.
